How To Get Premium In 'Ragnarok M: Eternal Love' Using PayMaya

How to get Premium in 'Ragnarok Mobile' using Paymaya?
Here's how you can easily get those coveted premium cards available in Ragnarok M: Eternal Love if you're from the Philippines like me! And nope, no cheats here though, sorry guys.
(You can skip the paragraphs below and head directly to the steps outlined though I would suggest reading the post thoroughly for a few insights and perhaps, some form of light reading. :D)

I say easy because getting a visa or any form of an online payment system in the Philippines is a bit of a hassle. Banks require quite a bit of document and time to get a Visa, Mastercard or credit card while popular online systems such as PayPal have very limited options to transfer funds to.

Fortunately, we now have PayMaya, an online prepaid card system that only takes a few steps to acquire and can be loaded through various branches nationwide. Of course, players can still use other payment services such as their own mobile loads, their bank accounts or buying game load from shops but I find that PayMaya offers quite a bit more. Not only can I use it for the game, but I can also use it for other transactions as well. PayMaya accounts can be used as a Visa/Mastercard to pay for online transactions. They also offer a physical card that subscribers can use to pay at physical stores that accept credit or debit cards. What's more, I find that loading up my PayMaya account is less of a hassle than other options.

Additionally, I've noticed that direct transactions, ie. from Visa account straight to the app, are cheaper than going through a middleman, ie. buy credits from a gaming portal and use this gaming portal to buy from an app, as middleman transactions have added fees and sometimes offer a different bundle that what is offered in the app itself.

Now that I've promoted PayMaya to the fullest of my capabilities (haha), here's an outline of the steps we'll be undertaking to get that Ragnarok M Premium Card:
  1. Get a PayMaya account.
  2. Load PayMaya account.
  3. Add a payment option to your mobile device.
  4. Get phat lootz. (ie. Ragnarok M: Eternal Love Premium Card)
Note: You can always opt to buy premium from the Exchange. Newly added premium cards (day 1) are usually cheap at ~1.3M a piece but are on snapping period. As the days go by, this reaches 3Mz+ and I advise that you wait for it to reach rates of around 2.4Mz before buying.

UPDATES:
Mar 4, 2019

  • Added more details. Someone commented but deleted. Thanks though! :)
February 23, 2019
  • Fixed benefits section.
  • Added a few things here and there.

Before we get to those steps though, here are a few warnings if you do decide to spend PhP399 (~US$8) on the game:
"Ragnarok M: Eternal Love" offers Premium benefits that enhance their player's gaming experience.

WARNING
  • Premium Card benefits are locked per character and not per account. Make sure that you're using your main character (read: not just your main account) when you make your purchase.
  • Benefits like shared stash will only be activated on the character you make your purchase from. Other characters in the same account will not benefit from it. You will have to make another purchase on your other characters if you wish to enable premium status for them as well. (sux, I know) To be honest, shared stash, despite its description, will not activate account-wide so it's pretty useless. (I thought I could get startup equips for my other character on the same account but it turns out that I have to reach level 40 first before I do so. )
Listed below are the benefits you'll be getting alongside a few comments from myself:

A screenshot of "Ragnarok M: Eternal Love" benefits from the SEA version.

USEFUL BENEFITS
  • There are two experience bonuses (which I assume are different and stack): first, during combat time (ie. when your fatigue has not reached your character's max available combat time) loot and experience rates of normal (read: not mini-bosses or bosses) mobs are increased by 33 percent; second, as long as premium status is active (Time remaining can be checked on your character window by clicking your in-game avatar. It will be listed directly beneath your character name) base and job experience is increased by 5 percent.
  • You get an extra auto skill slot asap. Effective for priests and classes that use buffs alongside auto attacks.
  • Mini-Boss spawn times and availability will show in your MVP window too. Super useful for Mini-Boss hunts.
  • Honor Proof rewards are increased by 10 percent. (For guildies)
  • One more additional slot for pet work, ie. under "Labor Traveling Machine." (This is very useful since loot timers from pet labor continue despite offline times and the more pets working the more phat lootz :D )
  • Kafra Company pet workplace is unlocked. (Which is otherwise locked when not in premium status, I think) (Notable Kafra Company rewards are big cat vouchers) It seems the vouchers are fairly limited to Kafra tickets and Cat tickets. Others include Mora Coins, Dyestuffs, Belief Token, and other equip and accessory materials.
  • Double gifts for pets. Instead of the usual 4 meatballs, pets will give you 8 for a total of 40 per day.
  • Free food from food merchant and half price for one food bought right after. (Yes, the annoying quest mark on food mercs will disappear, useful for completionists/OCD gamers like me. Haha)
  • Free save slot for Ymir's. A Ymir save slot costs 800kz.
  • Unlock all warp portals in Kafra teleportation system. You'll need to activate the map first by speaking with Ariel before it unlocks though.
  • Lightning Chain limit removed. Use more than 7 for faster grinding and farming.
  • Bag slot increased by 30 slots. When you reach higher levels, item management starts to become a problem as you'll be collecting various loots that you're either saving or can't dispose of yet. Those free 30 slots lets you breathe.
  • Finally, a free headgear of the month. Once you activate your premium card, a free headgear of the month is automatically added which is useful, as you'll need all the passive (or deposited) stats you can accumulate endgame, trust me. Gacha is just painful and overly expensive.
NOT BENEFITS
  • Shared stash is a joke. Yes, it needs to be repeated. Shared stash is crucial in the early levels since it helps you equip fresh characters with useful gears, pots and Lightning Chain and vice versa, send mats to your main for crafting. However, you need to activate separate premiums for each character to make use of this benefit. Otherwise, you still need to level your other character to base level 40 to be able to access shared stash. If you're getting a Premium for this feature, you've been warned. Just level up your toon.
Now that I've listed the benefits from Premium Cards, littered with a few comments from myself, here are the steps to getting one easily if you've decided to make that Premium Card purchase.

How To Get Premium In 'Ragnarok M: Eternal Love' Using PayMaya

Step 1. Getting a PayMaya Account

Requirements: A Philippine mobile number (+63xxxxxxxxxx), mobile device and (secure) internet connection.
  1. Download PayMaya from the AppStore for Apple devices and Google Play for Android users.
  2. Open the PayMaya app on your mobile device and register for an account. Make sure that all details are correct and according to your real identity, not online character, persona, etc. Treat it like as if you were applying for an account in a physical bank.
  3. Input a password that you will remember (Recovering passwords is never a pleasant an experience.) but is secure as well. Avoid passwords that are easily hackable, ie. 123456. Your account will contain real-world money after all even if you only use it when making a purchase and loading just enough for that transaction.
  4. After registration, a verification SMS should be sent your mobile.
  5. Input your received verification code in the PayMaya app.
  6. Tap the "View Card" option on the main screen once you're logged in.
  7. You will be prompted to enter your (real) birthday and address.
  8. Once all of that is done, your PayMaya account should be activated. Congrats!
REMINDERS:
  • Keep your card details to yourself.
  • Use it only on trusted and secured sites.
  • Do not take a screenshot of your card and save it in your photo gallery or elsewhere. All details needed to hack your card and account are listed on the card.
  • View the card when and only when you're using it.
  • If you have touch-enabled/fingerprint scanning on your device, you can use this instead of entering your password every time for easier access.
OTHER STUFF
  • You now have the option to upgrade your account to increase your allowed funding per month.
  • You can also apply for a physical card if you wish to use PayMaya at physical stores.

Step 2. Load Your PayMaya Account

PayMaya offers a list of branches that can be used to load up your account. These can be viewed when you open the app and tap "Add Money." A few known branches and agents are Western Union, Shopwise, The SM Store, Robinsons Department Store, BDO, RCBC, Metrobank, Unionbank, Smart Padala, Meralco Bayad Center and 7-Eleven, among others. Tapping on each branch through the app will bring up a window detailing how you can add funds to your PayMaya account. I will only list two options from the long list of branches as these are the options available and nearest to me, namely, 7-Eleven and Palawan Express.

Loading through 7-Eleven
The latest PayMaya option for 7-Eleven uses a barcode generated from the PayMaya app which users can directly show to the cashier instead of going through the Cliqq kiosk machine. Your local 7-Eleven store may, however, still use the older transaction types. I will list all forms of transaction that I have encountered during my past 7-Eleven visits.

Notes:
  • Make sure that you ask the cashier first if their PayMaya loading is online and/or connected and then check what type of PayMaya loading they offer; if it's through Cliqq or directly at the cashier.
  • Always double check transactions that involve real-world money. You worked hard for it, you wouldn't want to lose it because one number was wrong.
Additional: I tend to load the minimum amount first (Php100) when I visit a different 7-Eleven from my usual one to make sure that the store's connection works and no problems occur.

  • Option A: Cliqq Kiosk
    1. Look for a 7-Eleven branch with a Cliqq kiosk. You will be using this machine to load up your account.
    2. Check if the Cliqq kiosk has a PayMaya option. This should be under the "E-Money" tab.
    3. Now check if the Cliqq kiosk either uses your mobile number directly or has been upgraded and instead uses a code generated through SMS.
        • Option A: Mobile Number
          1. Tap the PayMaya icon.
          2. Enter your mobile number and the amount you'll be loading in.
          3. Confirm and wait for your receipt from the kiosk.
          4. Proceed to the cashier and show them the receipt.
          5. Pay for your load.
          6. Wait for an SMS confirming a successful transaction.
        • Option B: SMS
          1. Send an SMS (ADDMONEY [space] 711 [space] AMOUNT) to 292907969.
          2. A serial code will be sent to you via SMS.
          3. On the Cliqq kiosk machine, instead of putting in your mobile number, it will require the add money code that you received earlier.
          4. A receipt will be printed once you hit confirm.
          5. Proceed to the cashier for payment.
          6. Wait for an SMS confirming the transaction.
      1. Congrats! You now have funds in your PayMaya account.
    • Option B: Barcode
      1. On your mobile device, sign in to your PayMaya app.
      2. Tap "Add Money."
      3. Tap "7-Eleven."
      4. Enter the amount that you'll be loading and confirm.
      5. A barcode will be generated.
      6. Proceed to the cashier and show them the barcode.
      7. Pay for your load amount and wait for an SMS confirming the transaction.
    Loading through Palawan Express
Requirements: ID (depends on the branch)

Check if your local Palawan Express allows for PayMaya transactions. It is usually better to ask the cashier directly or any of the higher-ups available as they know the ins and outs of their workplace and all available transactions that their branch accepts. If they do have the option, ask them too if their PayMaya loading is online and connected before proceeding.
    1. Ask a tray and form from the guard. (Our branch has a tray system to keep things organized, I think. Not sure if it's the same for other branches)
    2. Fill in all the necessary details: the transaction type (tick option for PayMaya), your name and mobile number under "Sender" and your Account Name (the name you registered in PayMaya) and Account Number (your mobile number you used for PayMaya).
    3. Indicate the amount that you'll be adding to your account.
    4. Give the tray with the form and payment in it to the cashier. They may require an ID if you are a first-time customer though I think they only check IDs if you're pawning or sending money to someone other than yourself. Still, bring an ID just to be sure.
    5. The cashier will inform you once the transaction is complete.
    6. Wait for an SMS before leaving the branch.

Step 3. Add a Visa/Mastercard Payment Option to Your Mobile Device

On your mobile device, there is usually an option that prompts you to sign in to your account and then add a payment option during your first time signing in. If you are already signed in though, look for your account settings on your mobile device and search for an option that says something along the lines of "Add Payment Option." Your mobile device might also ask you for a payment option when you make a purchase from an app but haven't connected any Visa/Mastercard account or any other payment method.

However, make sure that it really is your account that you're adding your Visa/Mastercard to and that your connection is always secure to avoid any unwanted loss of funds due to stolen accounts. Tick all available security options too while you're at it as it is better to be safe than sorry.

    Step 4. Get Phat Lootzzszxsz

I would advise that any online transactions made through an app be done through a secure and stable channel, ie. private home wifi, so as to avoid hacking and/or an unstable connection resulting into, possibly, double purchases.
    1. On your Ragnarok M: Eternal Love app, sign in to your account and pick the character that you will be activating the Premium Card for. Again, Premium Cards are bound to characters and not the whole account so make sure that you're using your main/chosen character when you buy a Premium Card.
    2. Tap "More" in the upper right corner of your screen beside the map.
    3. Tap "Recharge" on the second row, fourth icon.
    4. Tap the "Premium" tab.
    5. There are a total of 3 Premium Cards to choose from. (As of Nov. 8, 2018.) As a newbie player myself, I do not understand the use of the other two cards though I'm assuming that they only give you the mats listed in their rewards window and none of the benefits listed above. (Do correct me if I'm wrong. .____. )
    6. Make sure that you're buying the card that has the benefits listed above as its rewards and not just loots. To check, just tap on the card. (Read: Tap the card, not the button below the card as this will purchase the card. xD )
    7. Now tap the button below it.
    8. Depending on your mobile device and security options that you enabled, a window should pop up asking for a confirmation regarding your purchase. Double check that the price listed in the window is the same as the price listed on the Premium Card. Double check any other relevant information.
    9. Confirm your purchase and your Premium Card should pop up in your inventory.
    10. Tap the Premium Card in your inventory and "Use" it. You can also opt to sell it to other players via the Exchange system if you need zeny. This also means that F2P players may buy Premium Cards from the Exchange using zeny and never spend a single peso.
    11. Congrats! Enjoy the benefits of your almighty premium status.
Now get back to AFK grinding those crafting materials and read another guide on the site!

TIP: Instead of purchasing another Premium Card using real-world money when your current one expires next month, save up a lot of zenies during your premium status and use that to purchase your next month of VIP. :D

NOTE: This may be limited to people residing in the Philippines only.
